Blurb

Today is the Mondayest Monday ever. Hallie Winstone has been fired – and it wasn’t even her fault! Having lost her job and humiliated herself in font of a whole restaurant full of diners, this is absolutely, one hundred percent, the worst day of her life. That is until she receives an email announcing that she is the lucky winner of the “Once upon a Page” Bookshop!
Owning a bookshop has always been Hallie’s dream, and when she starts to find secret love letters on the first page of every book, she knows she’s stumbled across something special. But Hallie’s beloved bookshop is in financial trouble, and with sales dwindling, she can’t help but wonder if she is really cut out to run a business. Things start to look up when she meets gorgeous, bookish Dimitri and between them, they post a few of the hidden messages online, reuniting people who thought they were lost forever.
But maybe it’s time for Hallie to find her own happy-ever-after, too?

“I do better in relationships with fictional book boyfriends only. Real ones have never worked out for me. I’ve never felt a spark like the ones I read about. Men are better on the page.”

-Hallie Winston

Review

This is the story of clumsy, awkward, bookish Hallie Winston. Hallie is a book nerd who mess up everything in her life and she consider herself as the most unluckiest person in the whole universe and on one fine day Hallie wins the ownership of her favorite bookshop. And then her life kick starts to the right direction for the first time ever.

This book perfectly explains the psychology and the behavior of every book lovers. So if you are someone who has always wondered why book lovers love books so much what’s so special about it ? This book will through some light on it. On the other hand, Book lovers will easy identify themselves in the lead characters Hallie and her bookish Dimitri. The character description and the character development of Hallie and Dimitri is the best thing in this book. Both the lead characters are adorable and love-able, anyone would easily fall in love with these characters then and there. The love Hallie and Dimitri showers towards books, fictional characters and this bookshop called “Once upon a page” was extremely relatable and was charming. Their commitment towards that bookshop was also commendable. The characterization of Dimitri was book-perfect, it seemed like he was simply drawn out of Classic romance novel. The weirdness encircling these characters will only make the readers love them more. The side characters were also amazing, remarkably Hallie’s mother was very entertaining, her scenes will bring laughter in anyone’s face. There is a fish in the book, even it’s role was highly significant and unique.

The pace of the was pretty fast, the writing style and the language made it super-duper reader-friendly. Each chapter has something enchantingly bookish to showcase, it was like looking at the world through the eyes of bibliophiles. The bookish reference made in the book was really nice and nostalgic while reading. Every word written on the pages of this book will make the readers content, happy and cheery. The book was full of humor and will lift the reader’s mood by thousand times. The plot was simple and funny. This plot is a dream plot for every reader, which will definitely make the readers yearn to be a part of it. Though the plot was quite predictable at certain places but still it was really good to read.  The way the author has describe the bookshop and the small English village, Buntingorden was extraordinary. And the way Hallie and Dimitri try to re-establish the bookshop was delightful and all the ideas they used were new and cool, bookshops could really make good use of the ideas suggested in this book. And also the way in which the bookshop’s ownership was shifted from one person to another was damn pristine.

“Love doesn’t happened like it does in books, and I’d rather get my happily-ever-afters that way, because it never happens in real life.”

-Hallie Winston

My views

Of course this is one of the top-most best books I have ever read, that’s because so far while reading a book I will be reading somebody else’s story and will be trying to step into that person’s shoes but with this book I could easily able find myself in Hallie as well as Dimitri. It was extremely relatable, I liked each and every line on this book, I highlighted lots of wonderful lines in this book. I have never read a book which detailedly spoke about the life of booklovers so this book was like reading about myself. I have fallen in love with Dimitri just like Hallie and from now on he will be my book boyfriend, never letting this guy away ever. He was so perfect I was really afraid throughout book that something bad might happen but don’t worry it’s Rom-Com people, it’s always on a positive note!! This author is the second author after Sophie Kinsella who made me laugh out loud. This book made me very happy and I really really loved it. It is a happy feel good romantic comedy book which people of all age would enjoy.

I would suggest this book to all the book lovers because it’s a story about you, so don’t miss reading it. And practically I would suggest this book to everybody.

This book will make you believe in fairytales and happily-ever-afters once again just as you felt as a kid.

My rating for this book is 4.8 / 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
