The Kingdom of Cornucopia is the most prosperous kingdom known to the mankind. The kingdom flourishes with goods, wealth and most importantly Cornucopia has the happiest of subjects. But everything starts to go south and finally hits the rock end with the arrival of the New King, Fred The Fearless. The King is an inefficient man, he is overtly irresponsible and self-obsessed who cares nothing but himself and his luxuries. That doesn’t mean the king is a very bad man, it’s just that he is naïve and gullible. His shortcomings are mainly due to his friendship with Lord Spittleworth and Lord Flapoon because these two evil lords trick the people into believing in a mythical monster called The Ickabog and on whose name they start collecting enormous taxes, promising the citizens to protect them from the monster. These taxes burdens the people and eventually pushes the country to complete poverty. Cornucopia ain’t a prosperous country anymore and King is kept in dark about all of the bad happenings of the country.

Is Ickabog a real thing ? Will the wrongdoings of Lord Spittleworth and Flapoon comes to the light ? Can Cornucopia get back to normalcy and flourish again ?

That’s is the story of The Ickabog.

Review

So I really loved this book a lot. It was very fantasy like and an absolute fairy tale without a doubt. I liked the way the story commenced, it was well plotted. The plot was vivid and well planned. There were many characters in this book but it was not at all confusing they all had a significant role and almost every character will stay in your mind. I particularly liked the character of Daisy, she was a brave and strong, I like the way she stands up against whatever wrongdoings that she comes across. And Lady Eslanda and Head Chef, Bertha were also really inspiring. I think young girls should look up to these three amazing characters. And I also liked the role of Captain Goodfellow, I just wish he played a much more significant role because he had so much potentiality in him and his minimal presence was quite disappointing.

I really have to talk about the eatables available in cornucopia it was very delicious and mouth watering even while reading. The description given about cornucopia was really amazing and it will instantly abduct you to the land of cornucopia in no time.

The only difficulty I faced while reading this book was the unendurable wait for each chapters to be released, it was definitely unbearable because I’m an impatient reader and I just can’t wait, I wanted to know everything on a go. But Now that every chapter has been released and is readily available on the internet, you guys don’t need to go through that torment.

My rating for this book would be 5 out of 5 stars

Rating: 5 out of 5.

And I would recommend this book to children of all age, they could absolutely learn a thing or two from this book. And parents you could read this story out loud to your kids during this lockdown. I’m cent percent sure you and your kids will enjoy this experience and of course the book.

PS : If you are someone who wants to raise a young reader, maybe this book would help you achieve your goal.

So, it’s not just for kids, even grown ups can read it, it wasn’t kiddish or something if that’s what is stopping you from reading it. And if you’re someone who love fantasy or J.K Rowling or Harry Potter you should definitely read this book.

This story is a kind of story which will satisfy the readers and will increase the appetite to read more fantasies and books.

I hope you love the book as much I did. Do read this book and tell me how you feel about it on the comment session below.

Happy Reading Folks!!!
