Review :

The Promise is one of the best books by Nikita Singh. The book has a strong and solid plot, which is the most important thing to consider in a book because nowadays we read so many book with literally no story at all. The story is narrated from Shambhavi as well as Arjun’s point of view, which help the readers to know both the characters clearly. Arjun’s character is built immaculately, from Shambhavi’s eyes he had been sketched as an ideally flawless man with whom readers will instantly fall in love with, as Shambhavi does. While reading his side of the story is when the readers get to know him as a person without rose tinted glasses. Shambhavi’s narrative style and character was something one could easily associate with. The author has penned the characters in such a way that the readers get emotionally attached to them, once it is accomplished by any book then that book is a success. This book is so emotionally written and the emotional turmoils the characters undergoes is felt by the readers explicitly. All the chapters in this book starts with an impressive quotation and that gives a brief introduction about the chapter and what to expect out of it. The language was simple and was a easy read. It more or less feels like the protagonists are sitting nearby and whispering their story to us. Supporting characters had a crisp and right amount of scenes and certain conversations with them were deep and appreciable. The best parts are Shambhavi’s friends Mili and Tutul’s looking after and being there for her. And her father Mr.Sen standing by her through thick and thin were heart touching and emotional.

This is a heart-wrenching story of a girl who is persistently faced by hardship yet encounters all of them with a smile plastered all over her face. The power of her resilience is so fascinating. It teaches us, the positive vibes and optimism can make a person endure even the worst of situations heroically. Though it is a tragic plot, it still engulfs the readers with hope and sanguine and it also has an admirable romance. The only drawback in this book was the parts before the introduction of the male protagonist was bit draggy, once he gave his entrance the story started to pick pace. And the last couple of chapters had so many details which could have been avoided. Otherwise it was near to perfection, so these minute flaws can be ignored without a seconds thought.

My opinion :

Even though it’s quite melodramatic, I totally loved this book, it has been in my favorites list for more than six years and I re-read it numerous times. Arjun Datta is one of my book boyfriends. This book made cry and I could almost feel the physical and mental agony of the characters.  I would recommend this book to all, it is totally worth reading. This book is best suited for beginners since it is written in simple English, I’m sure they will fall in love with reading. If you want to do a quick read or looking forward to have some emotional connections with the characters or fan of romance or if you simply want to know whether this author can make you cry ? Go ahead and read this book like NOW. And don’t forget to let me know how you feel about this book.

My rating for this book is :  ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ

PS : I love this book so very much that’s why I’m giving five start rating and of course it deserves it. Believe me and read this book. I hope you will love it as much as I do.
