Book Club Alert : Nikita’s Bookshelf @singh_nikita @hinatekchandani

Hey my dear beautiful bookish people, so today, the 6th of October is my favorite Indian Romance writer, Nikita Singh’s birthday!! Yay!!!!

Nikita Singh (@singh_nikita) | Twitter

Nikita Singh is a very successful and the most celebrated Indian author. She has published twelve bestselling novels, she has also edited few books and written a couple of books under a pen name. And now she has also started contributing stories for Storytel in audio-format. Nikita Singh started her writing career when she was a nineteen year old and she took just 14 days to complete the manuscript of her debut novel (Isn’t that just amazing ?) With the publication of her each book, she is unbelievably outdoing herself and she is one of the very famous Indian Authors in the past decade.

I have always adored Nikita Singh for the beautiful books and the stories she writes and bring out to this world. She is the one author I fervently follow on the social media from my early teenage years till now. I particularly love Nikita Singh’s male lead characters and many of them are my top most Book Boyfriends. These characters have made me blush so much more than any living guy could ever manage to do so 😀 She has indeed helped me set my standards very high 😛 I could talk about the things I like about Nikita Singh, her books and her writings all day but I will save that for some other time because today’s prime focus is on the newly formed exciting Book Club of her’s Nikita’s Bookshelf!!

Nikita Singh used to do book suggestions on her Instagram profile every now and then. It’s on her recommendation I read The Husband’s Secret” by Liane Moriarty a year back which I absolutely loved very much. So then on, I believe on her recommendations very much. During early August, Nikita decided to start her own private little book club and as soon as I came to know about it I joined it immediately. I could proudly say I’m one of the earliest members of the club. Jeez I know it sounds silly, never mind!

This Book Club is personally run by Nikita Singh herself and her dear friend Hina. The membership of Nikita’s Bookshelf is completely free, you don’t need to pay anything to become a member of this lovely Book Club. All you have to do is fill in this form and follow the Instagram page of Nikita’s Bookshelf for updates.

Once you become a member, each month they will shortlist some five to six books and among them only one book will be selected as the Book Of The Month by members themselves by conducting Polls on Instagram. One month time duration will be given to buy and read the book. And collectively the Book Club selects a particular date and time to meet virtually to discuss the Book Of The Month via Google Meet.

It has nearly been a couple months since the commencement of the Book Club and so far we have successfully completed reading one book and met virtually once to discuss the book for around one hour thirty minutes session. The first book with which we inaugurated our Book Club was Then she was gone” By Lisa Jewell. I thought the Virtual Book Club Meeting was going to be one sided where Nikita would talk about the book we all read, something like an Instagram Live. But I was in for a very great surprise, it was an interactive session where everybody got the chance to talk about the book as well as with Nikita herself. This made me so very excited and like an over enthusiastic first bench student I raised my hands and spoke. That’s one of my happiest moments!

This is first time I’m ever being a part of a book club and this virtual meeting was a very great experience and I enjoyed every bit of it. Because as a book lover we all crave to talk and discuss about the books we have read but not all the time or not all of us are fortunate enough to discuss our books with people and in that way I totally loved being a part of this book club. And I felt like all the problems I had faced as bookworm has come to an end with the commencement of Nikita’s Bookshelf.

Also discussing the book by answering the questions posted by the publisher actually help me a lot in understanding the book at the whole different level. This experience was one of a kind and I would strongly recommend everybody to be a part of a book club because it will help you become a far more better reader you’ve ever been. And I realized it only after this virtual meeting.

The Book for the month for the month of October is When breath become air by Paul Kalanithi and we have planned to meet at the end of the month.

Thank you so much Nikita for such great initiative and being an inspiration to me for nearly a decade. Wish you many more happy returns of the day!! Keep inspiring and keep writing wonderful books and blush-worthy characters.

Happy Birthday my dear favorite Nikita Singh!!!
